The mineral filter (often zinc or titanium-based) acts like a mirror by reflecting UV rays; it is effective immediately and less allergenic, therefore recommended for babies. The chemical filter absorbs UV rays; it is often more fluid but requires 20 minutes to work.

Can adult sunscreen be used on a child?

It is not recommended. Adult products may contain fragrances, alcohol, or chemical filters potentially irritating to children's sensitive skin. Always opt for a "Kids" or "Bébé" range.

Why use after-sun if my child doesn't have a sunburn?
