Description
Abjad Game:
An interactive language game based on word formation speed using available letters. It aims to enrich Arabic vocabulary and improve mental alertness. Players compete by modifying a word by changing a single letter at a time, until one player gets rid of all their cards and wins the game.
Rules of the game:
- Players agree on the type of words allowed (Classical Arabic only or Classical and dialectal).
- A first 3-letter word is chosen to begin.
- The cards are dealt evenly among the players, each card containing a single letter.
- There is no fixed turn: any player can modify the word by changing a single letter.
- The word should be changed quickly, for example:
“علم” → “قلم” (addition of ق)
“قلم” → “قسم” (replacing ل with س)
- A letter cannot be directly superimposed on an identical one.
- If a player suggests an unknown word, the game may be interrupted for verification.
- There is a "crescent" card that can be used in place of any letter.
Game winner:
The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the game.
