Geppetto, an old craftsman, carves wood and makes toys. His dearest wish is to have a son. So he imagines a puppet, which he names Pinocchio. One night, his wish is granted by the Blue Fairy, who brings the puppet to life. And Jiminy Cricket is given the task of being the puppet's good conscience to prevent him from doing wrong.
